Philosophical Exemption

I live in Missouri and I am helping to push a philosophical exemption

bill through the House. It has pretty much failed so far. We got a

philosophical exemption on the chicken pox and hep A vaccines. Whatever--how

stupid. Anyway, I talked to my Representative and told her how important it

is to have a philosophical exemption for all vaccines and to not add any more

vaccines to our already overcrowded list. After a lot of arguing, I asked

her 'Don't you think parents can make decisions for their own children?' She

told me 'NO! Not when it comes to this issue.' Who does she think she is?

Well, she's pretty much an idiot if you ask me because when we started to

discuss the Hep B shot, she told me that she would never agree to a

philosophical exemption for that vaccine. I asked why she felt that babies

should have this. She said that it is very contagious and it is found in the

saliva and HAIR. Little children will kiss on the playground, she tells me.

HAIR!?!? She told me how she helped mandate the Hep B vaccine in Missouri.

We argued and got nowhere. What a moron! I ended by telling her about the

Dan Burton hearings and told her how a link between vaccines and autism is

being investigated. I asked her if she felt that getting rid of these

diseases was worth the risk of autism. She said YES--it's not proven yet.

What an uncaring, cold, bitch! Well, I find out later that she is an

unmarried, childless, fourty-year-old. I'm sure she never will have kids.

I'm sending her a copy of the Burton hearings. Doubt it will change her

mind, but I will try. Thanks for letting me vent.
