Dr. Ms.Radium D Bhattacharya:

1. We are glad to note that there is some initiative on moving

ahead with India's preparation for UNGASS meeting. I am part of the

UNGASS- NYC host committee and thus will be updating SAATHII/AIDS-

INDIA forums on planned event at UNGASS in coming days.

2. Following are the Planned Civil Societies (living outside of

India) activities towards HIV/AIDS advocacy in India and ASIA at

UNGASS meeting in New York city.

** We are mobilizing various Indian, south asian and asians

individuals and organizations to march with us as part of

Indian/ASIAN contingent at the Stop the Global AIDS March on June 23

at UNGASS, to increase the visibility of HIV/AIDS issues in ASIA. We

hope all of you attending UNGASS meeting will march with us. We want

to see 2000-3000 India/asian faces as part of this march. We are

hoping to invite famous personalities for this march. ANY IDEAS

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FORWARD US.

** We are also planning a advocacy event to advocate for HIV/AIDS

issues on India/ASIA on June 24th in New York City at the UNGASS

meeting. Once again this is an open invitation for all the forum

members.

*** We are also lobbying for addition of Indian/ASIAN speakers at

various panels that are being planned. We did succeed in getting one

of our PWA colleague from India to speak at the Access to treatment

panel to be held on June 22.

Please refer to next e-message on potential ideas for india specific

plans.

Kind Regards.
