ere in South Florida they have stevia at good health food stores (not the

GNC kind). It is available in powder or drops - smaller supplies than 2 lbs.

for sure! It is somewhat pricey, but like Jane said - it can last a LONG

time since you only use a little. For example, if I use the drops in a

beverage, I find I only use one or two drops.

Where are you again, Jane?

This stevia...somebody said it tasted of licorice? How intense is the

licorice flavor? My family (with the exception of my husband) really

dislikes the flavor of licorice. If it's not too intense a taste, I'd like

to try it! I've got to get off the sweetener.

y son suffers from a high candida yeast overgrowth. We feel this may be

adding to his immune/allergy problems. One thing that was eliminated

from his diet a long time ago was white sugar. We also had to eliminate

honey, molassas, etc. The yeast feeds on this. Is anyone out there

familiar with this? If so....would this stevia be ok?

Thanks!

Hi !

I read that Stevia is bowel compatible and does not grow or support yeast

growth, I'll try & find the article I read last year, there was also a very

good article in Nexus (alt mag) can you get that I'm sure it is American?

I honestly don't know. I had a similar problem...that was addressed by a

natural Dr. No sugar (honey, fruit included), no white or wheat flour, no

yeast. I learned so much about rye, spelt, soy, brown rice, and buckwheat

flour! Lots of acidophilus! - - caprylic acid too. After about a month of

following these dietary guidelines I started to feel BETTER! After two

months, the difference was overwhelming!

Good luck.

Stevia..has a very mild aftertaste. I can taste it but my husband can

not taste it. You definately can't taste it in baked goods. There are

several cookbooks on Amazon. Just look up stevia.

Joan,

Thanks for wishing us luck. We are going to need it! I do have a great

book called 'The yeast connection handbook.' that outlines the proper

diet. The big problem we have is that our son is three years old. I have

to be so concerned that he is getting proper nutrition. Between food

allergies and the yeast overgrowth (and he just happens to have a very

hard one to kill) all that he should really be eatting is water and

fresh vegtables. Alot of people have the attitude that he is only three

and can only eat what we give him. Well...... it is not so easy.we are

strong about not giving him White sugar, flour, breads etc. His main

diet is based on brown rice which should only be used in moderation.

This is what he eats:

brown

Rice milk

(we keep adding more water)

brown rice puffs

Yeast free brown rice bread (this does also contain some white rice:(

Organic baby food fruits and vegies or fresh organic fruit

Organic chicken (not the best choice for him but its very hard to get

organic around here) Turkey or lamb

Flax, saflower,sunflower oil.

At this point we are trying to get him to eat vegies and he refuses. We

have to hide it in his fruit. (which he shouldnt have!)

is allergic/sensitive to milk, soy, nuts, fish, wheat, oats,

white potato, tomato, egg plant, barley, etc!

Add on the foods he shouldnt be eatting due to his candida and we have a

big problem. As you can see from above, his diet is so limited already.

Taking away his rice yeast free bread will devastate him!

I am so glad to hear that you are doing

so much better. Did you ever take a antifungal?

Thanks!

No I never did. Things seemed to clear up quite well with my change of diet

and the addition of acidophilus and caprylic acid. God bless the little guy -

I can't imagine that diet. Any clues as to why the allergies?

Cordially, Joan

Hi Joan,

Thanks for the note.

Well....we feel his allergies became out of control after his 15 month

MMR and DPT.

We now know he also has a High Candida overgrowth. He had a stool test

through Great Smokies Labs. He tested a 4+. Which is as high as it goes.

He also had NO bifidus in his system. We have since learned that this

Candida can cause allergies and food sesitivities. If we could clear it

up, he would probably improve alot. The problem is, he has a hard strain

to 'kill'. Our Environmental Doctor put him on Diflucan. After 2 weeks

we took him off. I was worried about the toxic effects this could have.

(liver, etc) The Doctor was furious at me for this. He said I was

'undermining his authority and expertise.'

Anyway, I thought it would be better to try other things before drugs.

No one wants him better more than me. I just dont want

him to be screwed up more. I am happy to hear you got it under control

with just diet and 'flora' supplements. I hope we can also! Thanks for

your blessings. :)
