This is never mentioned in any articles about PPS that I've seen. I question whether polio has been erradicated. Aseptic meningitis is a disease that has symptoms that are almost the same as polio. figures from the LA county health index of reportable diseases show that this illness increased in direct correlation to the decrease of polio after the introduction of the vaccine. In July 1955, before the oral vax was introduced there were 273 cases of polio reported and only 50 of aseptic meningitis. In Sept 1966 after the oral polio vax was introduced there were only 5 cases of reported polio but 256 of aseptic meningitis.. Bear in mind that in most cases, polio infection goes undetected - even in polio epidemics. (90% of infections cause NO symptoms is the figure I have here). Therefore there must be more polio around than it would seem on the surface. Since 1980 EVERY case of polio in the US has been caused by the vaccine as admitted even by the FDA. One could argue that if there was no vaccine there would be more wild cases than there are vaccine induced cases but considering there have been other diseases that have died out without a vaccine I don't think this is conclusive. In healthy children polio is usually a non-event and the symptoms are usually mistaken for flu if there are any at all. It is also proven that there is a direct link between sugar consumption and the severity of polio - shows why it's wise to avoid sugar as much as possible. Guest guest
Thank you Judy, that's very interesting stuff. I keep hearing the phrase " in healthy children " as in: In healthy children, the infection is mild, etc. Would children who have been vaccinated, or partially vaccinated, still be considered healthy in this context? This is probably a dumb question, but I'm wondering if there are any homeopathic-type substances that will build up a child's immune system, to counteract any vaccines they have received. Guest guest
< I think it is called aseptic meningitis now? Although Guillaine Barre syndrome is also in the running isn`t it > Sue, I suffer from a neuromuscular condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrome which is said to be the most common genetically inherited peripheral neuropathy even though most people including many doctors haven`t heard of it! The incidence of this condition has increased by over 60% in the last few decades. I am involved with a number of email groups who discuss CMT and many suffers find when they trace the condition back through their family tree there are cases of `progressive post polio syndrome` which were obviously CMT. Many older members of the groups were also diagnosed and treated for polio when they were younger. This makes me wonder how many cases there were in the past of true polio and how many were actually another condition. I think myself that the medical profession `diagnose` to suit current trends and that a lot of these so-called diseases are actually genetic damage from a number of causes which individual families are susceptible to. On the other hand maybe my thinking is as mad as mainstream medics would say it is! Joyce (Ireland).
