On a whim, I sent an email to a mom who has posted a note in a guestbook of

another mom's web site dedicated to her daughter she lost to a vaccine

reaction. Here is a bit of her note, she talks about reaction to dpt (my ds

began to wheeze 3 days after his dpt and ended up in the hospital on the

10th day due to respiratory distress)

<'No, he didn't have a reaction. The only thing he had was a

couple of weeks after the shot he had an upper respiratory infection (bad

cough, asthma like symptoms, reflux in which the gagging and choking can

sound like a bad cough and other things along those lines). My son began

coughing badly about 2 weeks after his first immunizations and after two

more weeks we were in the hospital to monitor his breathing because he was

having such horrible coughing spells he was turning blue around his lips and

he was diagnosed with 'para-pertussis'. That is to say he had all the

symptoms of having whooping cough (pertussis) without having the virus or

bacteria in his system. From beginning to end it was about 7 weeks. I

believed my dr when I asked her for the 40th time if it could have been from

the shot and she said 'no'. Since her sub-specialty was immunology, I

believed she would know. Within 16 hours of his second shot, he had the

hour+ seizure. I believed that if he did react again to another shot, it

would have been more of the same of what we had just been through. I knew I

could deal with that.>

yes certainly but I would suggest you can treat so-called strep with

homeopathy and not antibiotics which are also harmful for many

reasons.

Pertussis not deadly but the vaccine most certainly is!

My daughter had it at 18 months and she is healthy and fine now. It

is very often followed by strep throat by the way and few realize

this. Our daughter contracted strep after the pertussis and we did

put her on antibiotic. if you have to do antibiotic though, make

sure you are giving probiotics at the same time! I agree the cough

and breathing can be scary if they are gasping. If you truly think

the child is gasping for air, take them to the ER but do not let them vax

her -- Pertussis is treatable but the damage from the vaccine is

not.

Hope this helps and hope you feel better!

I just wanted to add that many many doctors still immediately resort to antibiotics if a strep test comes back negative however, that may soon be changing as even webmd online says this about strep infections now.....“Strep throat will go away in 3 to 7 days with or without treatment. Doctors usually treat strep throat with antibiotics even though they may not make you well faster.â€.....So, just another illness that doctors overtreat at the expense of our immunity & health Sent from my iPhoneOn Oct 13, 2011, at 3:15 PM, Sheri Nakken <vaccinedangers@...> wrote:

MIchelle: Just got this email. Thanks for the info. I have not accessed the in a long while. Please tell me how I can do that again. I have not gotten any other emails. Our daughter is not vaccinated and there is always pressure to do so. Also, your daughter got strep...do you know of another treatment that is natural instead of antibiotics for strep? Can you get cod liver oil?  When my little ones have been sick, I put cod liver oil (one with naturally occurring Vitamins A and D from the liver.  Check the label.) in a bottle with juice.  Do you drink pasteurized milk or raw milk?  Definitely don't give the pasteurized milk.

You can put Hydrogen peroxide in a cool mist humidifier in a 3/5 ratio.  3 parts hydrogen peroxide and 5 parts water.http://www.ehow.com/way_5833378_hydrogen-using-cool-mist-humidifier.html

Also, can you find a classical homeopathic doctor near by?  I would go to them.  They will be able to help.

My throat is really bothering me. Not so much hurting but feeling like it is folding in on it self and closing. I hope she is not feeling like this! My oldest is still up as well, just a sore throat for her though, no cough.

Pulled out the humidifier last night, eucalyptus and peppermint and tea tree oil in it. Not sure it has helped any of us.

Started giving the older kids and DH and I Oscillococcinum. Not sure I should give these little pellets to baby though?

I have no Vit C in the house! I dosed Vit D though as I know we have not been getting enough sun the last month. Is there a Vit C I can get to give baby?

You mentioned no dairy and I know that is wise when mucus is the issue but we are all dry, dry throats and cough sound from baby. She loves milk... (I know, I know, weird giving cow milk to human baby but I have a condition that gets in the way of breastfeeding a full supply and I dry up without Dom) So breastmilk while perfect, is not an option. Course if giving up dairy will help a dry illness issue we WILL.

I have some basic Homeopathics and theraputic grade EOs that can be taken internally even. However I am clueless how to treat this. I think fear might be getting in the way honestly.

Took benadryl a while ago to see if this was maybe an allergy and my throat still feels like it is closing. -sigh-

Just at a loss.

It could be pertussis, or it could be croup (which can be awfully scary to hear, too) or maybe something else. Just follow your gut on this. If you think it might be pertussis, you can always get her tested (keeping in mind they will report it). I was an experienced mom, too, when my 11yr-old got it and I was totally wigged out when I heard the sound, too. So, I can only imagine how you must feel with an 18 month old.

Thank you all for the care and concern. I wanted to update.

Last night was one of the hardest ones in 12 years of parenting. Baby scared

the heck out of us. Fever was 103, and we heard every hard breath she had last

night. Nothing for her was easy. We held her up right and cuddled and tried

everything we could think of, even walking her 2 miles at 4am in a sling as it

seemed to help the most.

Dr says it is croup. My little sister, her girl friend, and their baby have

been staying with us, that baby was sick last week but they where out of state

this week. I checked with her and she said she took her son to a Dr and that Dr

said he had croup Monday. So it does line up.

Gave us a prescription for an anti-infamitory that I will look up soon.

I am left wondering if baby has croup what my oldest Dr and I have. No

appointments for today so Oldest will go in Monday, making it a week from onset.

If it is strep and not gone by then we will be looking to treat with

anti-biotics as my oldest had strep at 3 years old that was not treated as the

Dr didn't think it needed to be and it turned into scarlet fever. Scarlet fever

is the worst we have had to deal with though, none of the big bads people vax

for so far anyway. I however do not want to go through that again specially with

the same child.

I am open to learning more and other treatments. My baby and middle daughter

got the flu last January and it hit hard on just them and all home treatments

seemed to fail, it ran it's course but nothing but motrin seemed to help them

rest at all. I sometimes feel useless. I have alternatives but I keep failing at

treating with them. My midwife swears by EO's internally and so far they have

not helped with much. One starts to lose hope....

I am rambling. Thanks for dealing with me!

All the best,

Kim

Croup is kind of a generic description of a cough due to usually viral causes (they say). It's not really a particular disease. It's like saying "rash." There are various causes, but it's not a condition in and of itself. Two of my kids had it several times, and only when they were little. It's probably that you all have the same thing, but your daughter and you are older so it doesn't come out as a croupy cough.

The method that worked for us every time was to sit in a steamy shower for 15 minutes after giving them a particular homeopathic remedy (Spongia--it might be a different one for you). I don't remember even having a second night of the coughing, which is a barking sound. Is that what she had?

Strep should have nothing to do with this. Coughing isn't a symptom of strep. The person who mentioned it earlier was talking about it happening after pertussis sometimes. But pertussis is not the problem here, so there's no reason to be worried about strep.

Anti-inflammatory meds do not heal. They suppress the symptoms. I wouldn't use it. Same with Motrin. It "works" because it hides the symptoms. But it doesn't heal, and can make things worse in the long run. Google "Motrin and blind girl." Homeopathics and vitamins are much safer. This illness should be gone any time now anyway. At this point, just make sure she is rested and give her a lot of clear fluids and steamy showers. Hope you get some rest, too!

My son gets croup once every year (for the past three years). He’s fully vaccinated.

It’s the scariest sound so I can understand how you felt! The first year he got it, in the middle of night, I sat with him in the bathroom as I filled the tub with hot water. We sat there for a half hour and he fell back asleep and slept the whole night without a problem. He woke up the next day fine.

Year two, I tried the tub thing and it didn’t seem to help too much. So I placed him back into bed and opened up his bedroom window and let the cold winter air in. I had him covered well with blankets. The cold air helped him out so much and he slept until morning and was over it.

Last year we tried the tub and the homeopathic remedy Spongia, and that knocked him out and he was back to sleep until morning.

It’s always just lasted one night in our home.

I can sympathize with you as far as giving in to conventional ways. I am still new to all this and I am confident that I can battle anything when the children aren’t sick but then when they do fall ill, I’m a wreck.

The people on this board are so helpful and understanding so you’re in good hands!
