Guest guest
Hello everyone, Here is the scenario; my hubby is 66, he is pale, cold, tired, depressed, no motivation, lethargic, recent high BP, stomach upsets and a red swollen tongue. Last June his TSH was 3.53 2 weeks ago his TSH was 5.1. I'm hypot and I suspected him as hypot last summer but the GP says bloods are in range chant we know so well. With this last test, when pushed the GP said he would do an anti-bodies check in 3/4 weeks, so we have held our fire. Now today the same GP says there is no need for an antibodies check, that hubby is worrying unnecessarily, " take it from me, " he said! Oh, and a BP of 155 whilst on BP meds is, " nothing to worry about. " So, we have decided that hubby needs to go onto desiccated thyroid meds, he will self medicate bacause he has obviously been abandoned by the NHS. The crux is, I'm not too well myself and am making lots of mistakes because mentally I'm on the decline at the moment. (I have sent the Christmas cards out without saying who they are from and even addressed at least one to myself! So, hypothetically of course, what would you do about dose and supplements etc. The more detailed the advise the better for my fuzzy head, please. Can I say, I know you are all laymen on here and any advise you offer I must double check myself. PS, the GP is sacked as soon as we can register some where else. Many thanks, my thyroid warriors.
