Guest guest
I wrote on here back in January about seeing an endo and the after-effects that I got from the short synacthen test. At the second consultation the endo told me that I didn't have 's Disease and therefore he could not help me further. Well, I've just received his letter of opinion six weeks after I last saw him. SIX WEEKS! And I saw him privately too! There is absolutely no justification for such a delay. I had rung his secretary twice to chase the letter, the last time being a month ago, when she assured me it had already been put in the post. Liar! The letter really isn't worth the paper it's written on either: " In addition to confirming that Armour Thyroxine and Nature Thyroxine are not licensed, I did suggest that I do not have enough experience in using them and the effect on thyroid function test and that makes the interpretation of thyroid function on these treatments quite difficult. I also suggest that I would not recommend continuing on that or advise on dose because of the difficulties mentioned above. I did comment that on the current dose of Nature Thyroxine, her TSH is suppressed which does suggest over replacement and that perhaps she should consider reducing the dose aiming for a low normal TSH, if she would not consider switching back on to Thyroxine. " Contradictory or what?! I told him three times that natural dessicated thyroxine causes a suppressed TSH, but he just wouldn't have it. Just wanted to get it off my chest! Rant over Fortunately, I have since been to see the lovely Dr P and am now 3 weeks into the first treatment plan. in Kent
