Thyroid and Kidney problems - are they related ?

Hi all

I am sure I read a post recently about kidney problems being related but have

unfortunately lost it.

I would have been interested to know why they are related as I am suffering from

a swollen kidney still, even after having the ureter widened at it's juncion to

the kidney to relieve pain. The pain has gone, but I know that six months down

the line it IS definately still swollen as I can feel it at night and in a

morning while laid on it.

Is anyone clued up on any connections/information I am missing which may help my

next consulatation with the urinary consultant as I feel he will not be able to

know what to do next.
