Guest guest
Hello Deborah - I passed your test results to Dr Theodora Mantzourani and she has sent back the following advice. I would get another test to check the progesterone levels via blood as suggested by Theodora and let us have answers to the questions she has asked, before we can take this further. Luv - Sheila ___________________ Hi Sheila Re salivary progesterone result: Before jumping to any conclusions I would recommend a repeat test, preferably a blood sample for progesterone as salivary progesterone levels may paint a comprehensive picture of the entire menstrual cycle but are less reliable because of very broad hormonal variations. Other things to consider at this stage are drugs other than obviously progesterone cream or pills ,for example pregnenolone supplements, any conventional drugs and any supplements or glandulars with steroid hormones. Progesterone is produced by both the adrenals and the ovaries. Does she have ,by any chance, any recent cholesterol figures? and /or liver function profile? To wrap it up,before we proceed any further,I recommend a repeat test preferably a blood progesterone level.it would be good to have a blood cholesterol and liver profile as progesterone comes from cholesterol and ,finally,it would be good to have a list of all drugs and supplements and herbals consumed. I hope this helps Love Theodora Dear All Can anyone shed any light on an astronomically high salivary progesterone for me? I've just had these results: Salivary cortisol 0800 11.5 (5.0 - 14) 1200 2.3 (3.0 - 8.0) 1600 2.6 (1.5 - 5.0) 1200 1.0 (0.5 - 2.0) Salivary DHEAs 0800 1.0 (7.0 - 18.3) 1200 1.1 (4.8 - 10.0) 1600 0.6 (3.5 - 6.0) 1200 1.1 (2.0 - 4.0) Salivary Oestradiol Noon 16.4 (luteal phase 6.0 - 30.0; post meno <6.0) Salivary testosterone Noon 124.9 (35 - 350) Salivary Progesterone Noon 8069.1 (luteal 300 - 1900; post meno <150) According the lab, it is a genuine result........ I am 54, not exactly post-menopause, but haven't menstruated for 5 months. I take 125 mcg T3 (having had reverse-T3 on Armour); I don't take anything that would explain the progesterone and don't use progesterone cream. Soooooooo, if anyone has any knowledge on this that they could share, I'd really appreciate it! Deborah No virus found in this incoming message.
