Hi everyone.. it's been 3 months that I am on 100mcg of levothyroxine(has been

increased from 75mcg):

TSH 1.7 miu/L (0.2-6.0)

Free T4 15.6 pmol/L (10.0-25.0)

Basically the TSH has gone up (TSH last time was 1.4 and T4 was 15.5)even though

the dose has increased so the endo has suggested to increase levothyroxine

again and see how it goes.

My weight has gone again 5kg up compared to 3 months ago.

He is positive that the T4 only will help, but he was really understanding re my

concerns and mentioned he will ask the GP Practice to measure T3 next time (as I

have asked and the nurse put it down, but results came back today and no t3

results on it.)

I am really hoping it works..who knows, I might soon fall into the category of

people who seem not to be improving on t4 only..but somehow I hope not!

I didn't manage to get to the bottom of the questions I had re adrenals. I have

just asked him what was his view re adrenal saliva testing (a colleague in his

dept told me they were a waste of money). I cannot say I have clearly understood

his position but practically he said that the blood cortisol was really ok and

that he doesn't think this is the problem in my case. Considering he is one of

the " reccomended " endocrinologists & the fact that he was keen on getting tested

the t3 and all, I just thought I will trust his judgement and see how it goes

with the new increase in the T4 dosage. Do you think I should still challenge

him on this topic next time I see him?

Cheers,

Talita
