Guest guest
I'll start by saying I havent had revision surgery. That said I do have osteoarthritis as well as scoliosis and harrington rods. And yes in my experience, cold and damp do massively affect the pain. weird isnt it? Also I've found that standing/walking in a cold wind (on doing anything where the wind can gewt to my back) is pretty horrible. I close my front door on such a day and immediately my back muscles start to tighten to the point of pain. but to go back to the damp thing - a dull almost fatigue ache deep inside where it couldnt BE fatigue? weather changes Last year at this time, I was only a couple of months out from my revisions and was still on fairly high pain meds. I also always have some problems with the change of seasons affecting my MS symptoms. However, this month has been much different. This week is finally the first "real" week of fall weather we've had here - cold and now a bit rainy. I am feeling a lot of aching in my legs and also where I imagine the pelvic bolts are located.Growing up, I'd always heard of people who have had broken bones or arthritis complain about "feeling" the rain, or hating the cold weather, but I never felt this way after my original surgery. Has anyone else experienced this after their revision? Especially their pelvic bolts? I have to sit pretty much 100% of my waking time in a wheelchair, and it REALLY has ached this week. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I too have a lot of pain in cold damp weather. The pain is in my hips and also my legs. I did not have this pain before revision. However I am older now and possibly I would have had the leg pain anyway. It is a very deep pain around the bones. My Mother has sever arthritis and I don't know if the arthritis is inherited or not. She swears she can predict weather changes. I have found the Icey hot pain patches that you can buy across the counter help some when I put them on my hips. weather changes Last year at this time, I was only a couple of months out from my revisions and was still on fairly high pain meds.
