Guest guest
Hello Sorry I didn't want to turn this around to me, I just wanted to add my experience with progesterone in case it was useful at all. Yes I have had TFTs done also antibodies which were ok but none for a while. I had TFTs done last week but they didn't run my fT3 so my Dr was going to get them to run it and call me back with results, I will leave a message today to remind her I do know my ft4 was 13 which is low in the range, I am in Australia so those numbers may be different to yours. I also had my ft3 and ft4 done in 2008 and these were the results and ranges: TSH 1.1 (0.5-4.0) FT4 12 (10-25) FT3 3.5 (3.1-5.4) I have not been able to find a Dr here that will look past my TSH but I am hoping to convince this one to trial me on T3, it all depends on what my FT3 comes back as. She is only a registrar (fresh out of uni) and quite open minded. I have had my test, prog and estrogen tested via blood last year and were around mid range. My new Dr retested via saliva earlier this year and my prog was low/mid range, free testerone above range, dhea very high in the range, bad estrogen above range and good estrogen low. With that she put me on progesterone cream and DIM supplements to help correct my estrogens. I do not feel better and the prog cream as I mentioned earlier causes back issues plus it also causes cold sores trying to come through constantly so I have stopped that. I was diagnosed with a goiter in 2003 and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2004 and pretty much told by my endo that my CFS was from Glandular fever 18 years ago even though at the time I did recover and basically to suck it up. My Dr whom diagnosed me with a goiter told me that we will just sit and wait for my thyroid to grow and have it removed when it gets too big.. (I have been Dr shopping ever since he said that and have not seen him since). I fell pregnant at the time I was diagnosed with CFS and whilst I had bad back pain and no sleep due to that and very bad snoring which I don't usually do, all through the pregnancy my fatigue disappeared. It didn't start coming back until I started weaning. My fatigue is much worse now and I can't control my weight despite eating a lowish carb diet. Whilst in 2003/2004 it felt very hormonal (I had to shower twice a day from the oily skin and hair), now it doesn't. My previous doc thought I had adrenal fatigue from stresses of having a baby etc, he tried me on cortisone but this made me feel very bad from the very first low dose. He did think I may be hypothyroid but for whatever reason wouldn't touch it because of my TSH. During the entire time I saw him he also had me on a adrenal supplement (e.g. ginseng etc) as well as a liquid iodine/selenium/B12 etc which didn't help. He did find low vit D which I corrected by taking 5000UI everyday for about 6 months. I fully weaned her and even got her in her own bed but still continued to get worse despite less stress and more sleep. I have tried Dr Myhill's protocol but this also made me worse to the point of not being able to get out of bed until the afternoon. With my fatigue I have also lost my functionality and motivation. An example is my partner is forgetful and relies on me to remember everything etc, I now depend on him, I have turned into a huge scatter brain. We are like the blind leading the blind. I also avoid conversations a lot because my concentration is slow and like mush and I end up looking like an idiot. I have all the hypothyroid signs and symptoms except lately I have a high pulse especially upon waking. There is a great article that explains how this happens in hypothyroidism that I can find if anyone wants, it is caused by high levels of adrenalin. I have done lots of research on the thyroid and read Dr Peatfields book many times. LOL this is very long, you shouldn't have asked PS: I want to add that you guys have some great doctors over there, you're very lucky in that respect, its a shame your NHS wants to shut them all down. Cheers Sherrie > > Hi Sherrie, have you had any thyroid function tests done and if so, can you > give us the results of these, together with the reference range for each of > the tests done.
