Guest guest
Just got back from an appointment with my endo and I'm really worried. He said that he wants to reduce my dosage of Armour based on the blood tests, I said I disagreed and said that I would rather up my dose a half grain as I am getting some symptoms. No he said, your TSH is very supressed and it can damage your heart and cause bone damage too. I said I didn't agree and that I did not believe the blood test in isolation means anything at all. He then hinted that I had better find a GP to prescribe my Armour as he might discharge me! I told him that I had been to see his secretary after the last set of bloods and she had given me the results - all normal. So what was the problem? I said, then I was told that T3 is dangerous, I came back with, 'That's not what the BTA say, they say it is inactive and doesn't work', he had no answer to that and gave me another appointment for 6 months. I told him I would rather die of heart attack than go back to the state I was in before and felt that I should be upping my medication based on how I feel not random blood tests which, in my view, prove very little. I asked how he can believe in blood tests after I had gone through 7 years of having perfect scores and still being so ill I had contemplated suicide on more than one occasion? He said Armour is different...............................!!!! I'm worried now, what do I do if he refuses to give me any more prescriptions? There is no way I could afford to buy it myself. Guest guest
Why not ask for all the checks that he can refer you for - ECG & bone density? That way you are being co-operative, and show that you care about your health, and assuming they are all fine, hopefully he will feel happier about what you are taking.
