pregnancy mask and thyroid

Does anyone know if there is a connection between these two.

I ask on behalf of a friend who was diagnosed hyperthyroid some years ago.

I ran into her the other evening and was shocked at her appearance. She is very

tall, slim and elegant. Or at least she was. She looks like she has aged ten

years, pas put on a lot of weight and has these brown marks all over her face.

She says her GP tells her her thyroid results are " fine " and that the pregnancy

mask is from a contraceptive pill she took for a while a year or two ago.
