Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Do you know what the sweating is a side effect of? ... Do you mean some drugs can cause sweating. Steve -----Original Message-----From: Lynn D [mailto:ldudette@...]Sent: Monday, February 23, 2004 3:15 PMStillsdisease Subject: Re: Sweating Steve, Ask your doctor about "Drysol" it is a prescription anti perspirant for under the arms. They gave that to me. It stings a bit, but I guarantee no sweat will spring forth from under your arms. Also, Ditropan, a bladder anti-spasmodic will greatly control all body sweating, it is the number one side effect and I take it to control my sweating, without it I would have to be on an IV to prevent total dehydration. Lynn Sweating Hi guys, Straight to the point - How much do you sweat? I don't wake up in a pool of sweat or anything like that, but I do seem to sweat under my arms throughout the day. My feet also seem to sweat ... but this happens when the temperature is normal. I've tried spraying deordorant under my arms but to no effect. I'm continuously using a towel during the day, even when I'm sat watching the TV ! Is it the CRP (inflammation) that causes sweats ... white blood count or something else? I know people sweat naturally but I know it's too much for that. I'd probably put it down to WBC ... as when people have an infection they tend to have fevers and sweating. Guest guest
Yes, some drugs can cause sweating, but they don't know for sure why I am sweating so bad. They took me off the drugs that can cause sweating and it did not stop. For me, I notice the sweating is worse when my fever is up. That is usually in the morning. Then in the afternoons I feel like I am freezing to death. Before I started the Ditropan I just sweat pretty much non stop. Hope you get some relief. My doc asks if my sweats have stopped so I was thinking it could be just down to the illness. Guest guest
Hi Steve, I've had (and sometimes still do) the problem of profuse sweating due to the AOSD........BUT, our 28 year old son who is a normal healthy young man has severe problems with "sweating." He has asked the doctor about it, and doc told him he could prescribe a med to relieve the sweating, but then he would be faced with other problems such as very dry mouth etc. can be just watching a movie and sweating. He hates it, but so far seems he is having to live with it. It's (as we all know) *very* uncomfortable and aggravating to say the least. My comment probably caused only further confusion and questions on this sweating subject. Sorry. Most of us have sweats when we have fevers, so maybe it's just the same thing but on a lower scale - as I get better, the sweating might also. Guest guest
It did not plug up my sweat glands. I would ask someone else. My endocrinologist gave it to me. Guest guest
Hi Steve, Just wanted to add my two cents about the sweating. I had the normal sweating/drenching episodes when my body was coming down from the high fevers. Now the only time I notice any sweating is at night and I think it's when I'm tapering down my prednisone. That's the only connection I've noticed so far. I'm not sure if it's accurate or not, but that's what it seems like for me. I'm going to pay attention next time I taper down and see if it happens again. Also, about remissions - I'm going on 2 years of having Still's and have yet to be in remission. But things have gotten better, so I'm hopeful and my rheum. is optimistic for me (his words). So try to remain optimistic for yourself. I know it can be difficult at times, but hang in there! Take care of yourself.... , Buffalo, NY

Guest guest
Does this include feeling warm in the morning? If the radiator is on and the windows are closed I can feel awful upon wakening. It happens during the day as well. Or is it a sign as to how bad the inflammation is you think? Steve -----Original Message-----From: twckzmbg@... Guest guest
I'm also on prednisone, so not sure if this is all related. But, I ALWAYS feel very warm when I get up in the morning. Sometimes, my cheeks are even very flushed (no fever though). And, I have to sleep with the house very cold....we keep it about 61 degrees at night. If I have to sleep in a warm room - forget it! I am so hot and uncomfortable all night that I barely sleep! This happens to me also during the day. If my house is nice and cool, it doesn't bother me as much. But if I got somehwere that's it's warmer, I get very warm and uncomfortable. Trish in PA RE: Sweating Does this include feeling warm in the morning?
