Hi All,

I have just found Epsom Bath Salts (or more to the point I have re-found them as

I used to have it in my bath when I was young). I thought it might be good for

hypot sufferers and adrenal fatigue.

They are not really salts but Magnesium crystals. It seems that the magnesium

can get into the body via the skin - or so it says on the packet info. The body

takes up only the amount it needs. It can also reduce sodium.

A lot of people are magnesium deficient, which can be to blame for a number of

maladies including: heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, arthritis and joint

pain, digestive problems, and chronic fatigue.

When dissolved in warm water Magnesium Sulfate is absorbed through the skin and

replenishes the level of magnesium in the body. The `salt' draws toxins from the

body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling and relaxes muscles. The

magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain

that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. Research shows that magnesium

also increases energy and stamina by encouraging the production of ATP

(adenosine triphosphate), the energy packets made in the cells. Experts believe

that bathing with Epsom `salt' at least three times a week helps to look better,

feel better and gain more energy. Magnesium ions also relax and reduce

irritability by lowering the affects of adrenaline. It lowers blood pressure,

creates a relaxed feeling, improves sleep, concentration, and helps muscles and

nerves to function properly.
