Guest guest
Hello everybody, thank you very much for all your answers to my questions about my recent conversation with my doctor. A few people have asked me what medication/supplements I am taking and my other symptoms. I realised that I forgot to tell you some important things. First of all dizziness is not my only symptom but is the worst. Actually, these are all the symptoms that I have (I am using the checklist symptoms list that I found on this site): excessive tiredness, weight gain, cold extremitis, night sweats, slow speech, pins & needles, dizziness, trembling, loss of libido (poor me!), repeated urinary tract infections, candida, joint stiffness, loss of stamina, cold intolerance, low basal (morning) temperature, sweet cravings, unrefreshing sleep, noises in ears (hissing, ringing), head hair loss (not a lot, but I don't know what is " normal " ), brittle hair, dry skin, numbness and tingling in legs and feet, pressure headaches, muscles and joint pain, low blood pressure, scanty periods, infertility, premestrual syndrome, memory loss, poor concentration, easily upset, wanting to be solitary, mood swings, depression, nervousness/anxiety, personality changes, feelings of resentment, lack of confidence, inability to lose weight. I have also ALWAYS had a very bad case of overactive bladder (about 25 times per day). My eye sight has gotten very worst in the last two years. All the symptoms that I have written before have always been part of my life, since I was about 15 years old and I have always been diagnosticated as depressed. I also suffer from rosacea (skin disorder: adult acne). This is not the first time that I have dizziness. It started about 5 or 6 years ago and I have always had it (on and off) since that day. But in that period I was also suffering from anorexia so I thought that was the reason. Now I am not anorexic and the dizziness has come back. It has been very bad for the last couple of months. I do suffer from low blood pressure and from my recent blood tests it came out that my total white blood count is below range {3.7 (4-11)} but I suppose that is because I am taking antibiotics, my red blood cell count is ok {4.01 (3.8-5.8)}. At the moment I am taking antibiotics for my rosacea and they are tetralysal (300mg) and I am taking a multivitamin. I used to take prozac but I stopped about 3 years ago. That's it, this is all I am taking. I also forgot to mention that I did another thyroid test in 2006 and these were the results (in that year I didn't have dizziness and I was about 2 stones lighter): Free T4 13.0 pmol/L (8 - 22) Free T3 3.59 pmol/L (2.5 - 5.3) T.S.H. 0.82 mU/L (0.3 - 5.5) Then I did the blood test again about a month ago: Plasma free T4 level (XaERs) 11.2 pmol/L (12 - 22) Plasma free triiodothyronine level (XaERt) 3.9 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) Plasma TSH level (XaELW) 1.51 mu/L (0.3 - 4.2) My future blood test that I am going to have on Monday are for: antibodies, ferritin (stored iron), vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc. My last visit to the doctor was very upsetting because she didn't want me to speak. Luckily I don't have to see her again because I am registered with a practice that have about 10 different doctors. Everytime I see a different one because I am always in a hurry and if you want to be followed always by the same doctor an appointment is not alwasy available for at least a week. Anyway I will make sure not to go to this female doctor anymore. The other doctors let me speak and are much more friendly. I don't know if I suffer from hypothyroidism. What I know is that I have ALWAYS been tired, I always say that I was born tired and in the last two years I am always confused and I have very slow speech. One day I was browsing the internet looking for answers and while I was reading the symptoms of hypothyroidism I thought that I actually have lots of them. I understand that my symptoms could be the symptoms of lots of other diseases, but it look pretty possible to me that this is hypothyroidism (my mother, uncle and auntie have it and are on medication for it). Thank you everybody for reading. Vivien
