Advice on medication for High Blood Pressure

I saw the practice nurse yesterday and she has referred me to my GP as my blood

pressure is high. It has been borderline for years and for 6 months last year I

was taking Anatolol. Dr P told me it had an effect on the thyroid so I ask the

GP if I could come off the medication and she agreed.

Does anyone have advice as to what medication I could take? Could I ask the GP

to prescribe Co enzyme Q10 and magnesium to see if this would help first?
