Guest guest
Dear all, i haven't posted for a while but i have this niggling doubt in my mind which can be re assumed in the following: I was diagnosed, by a normal hospital ,with secondary hypoadrenalism (in Italy, where i live,) and prescribed hc, 25mg. I didn't want to take cortisone until i visted dr P and he clarified. I was also prescribed armour (but only by Dr P), which in the end didn't help me because i wasn't converting the t4 into t3. Dr P then gave me t3 which didn't give me all the problems of armour. In all of this i know that HC in particular helps me because it lifts me immediately . But i often wonder if t3 is helping me. MY pulse has gone from 58 to 70 with t3 and my am temperature rarely goes above 34.4. some people say that it is the pulse rate that counts and less the temperature. I now live better and i don't feel the chronic tiredness , which i know is due to the hc and not the t3. I still feel the cold, still suffer from constipation , my concentration is better as is my short term memory. I also still suffer from terrible flatulence despite the fact i take nutrigest which has hydro chloric acid. I can't distinguish what the t3 should be curing and what the hc should be curing. I know i can't do without the hc but could i do without the t3 especially because it is synthetic just like the thyroxine? My last tsh reading was 3.(before taking any medicine) something which apparently is a sign of hypothyroidism. I had candida , copper, vitb 12 , iron ,calcium zinc, oestrogen and progestrone tests done . I take vit d, vit b12, iron and a whole host of supplements that dr P prescribed. I do feel better but this niggling doubt - why am i taking t3? I have to admit that last year when i was overdosing (80mcg) I was really hot in bed . I then discovered that 40mcg is sufficient and gives me 70 base pulse rate( recommended by dr P) , but i still have no thermostat. one minute i'm hot and the next cold, but more on the cold side than on the hot side. Any comments would be welcome. thanks in advance. berny
