Hi Lilian, n making that remark about T3 comapred with T4 it shows a total ignorance of how it works- or even should work! According to that, my intake of 80mcg T3 plus the T3 I get from Armour adds to an insane amount of T4- which I wouldn't be able to tolerate anyway- thinking of T3 as just a quick acting form of T4 is missing the mark by a long way. thyroid treatment From: lilian15@...Date: Wed, 24 Mar 2010 22:25:20 +0000Subject: Is this the explanationReading through the National Formulary Site about thyroid hormones they have put:- Liothyronine sodium has a similar action to levothyroxine but is more rapidly metabolised and has a more rapid effect; 20 micrograms is equivalent to 100 micrograms of levothyroxine. Its effects develop after a few hours and disappear within 24 to 48 hours of discontinuing treatment. It may be used in severe hypothyroid states when a rapid response is desired. I am wondering if it is because they think that T3 is the same as T4 but just acts more quickly that they do not like to use T3. Lilian Not got a Hotmail account? Sign-up now - Free
