Guest guest
http://journals.cambridge.org/action...ne & aid=7161684 I know Simon Wessley in connection with ME/CFS, causes a lot of bad feeling, but for once this is something he was involved in that I agree with and found interesting. The link is to an abstract and the research is really classed as et al. rather than Wessley et all, but you'll notice another familiar name too. Many people are aware of low adrenal reserve/adrenal fatigue/low cortisol/hypocortisolism - all wordplay for somethin involved in many people with ME and their endocrine system. Basically poor adrenals were associated with a poorer outcome of CBT. Does this mean a slight change in attitude from Dr Wessley and that he may be advocating the use of the Genova adrenal testing? I did the saliva testing with DR P in the past and this is why I nake Nutri Adrenal Extra to treat the adrenals and did find it relevant to dizzyness and energy drainage when standing. This in my experience is something in addition to pain and fatigue and poor concentration, but it did halt my decline. At the moment only alternative-minded doctors on the NHS recognise the private adrenal results, so I wonder if this means a gradual shift in the right direction? There are clearly a lot of people with ME who have poor adrenals but cannot get this treated on the NHS because they don't have full blown s. So really if your adrenals are not up to scratch, this is why you don't respond well to CBT.
