Guest guest
Hi all, I got home from hospital on Saturday after another bout of Diverticulitis, its settled down now apart from thrush with all the antibiotics. Unfortunately I`ve also been told to stop the PTU and Thyroxine as I was throwing up the ptu (the taste in my mouth was awful with them too) same way as I did with Carbimazole. FT3 is still high and I`m still getting all the hyper symptoms though FT4 has came down a bit, my bowel surgeon has given me naltrexone 2mg and said this could also help with thyroid so fingers crossed. I`m still waiting for appointment with ENT and I think I `m going to go with the surgery as I can`t keep going like this, am also scared that I`m not on any meds for thyroid at all now. I`m constantly hungry now and all the weight I put on this year (5 stone and was hardly eating) is coming off which a few months ago I`d have loved but I`m so paranoid and out of control now that even that is freaking me out! Does anyone know why the T3 stays high when the T4 goes down? From the start of all this its always been high T3 with me? Seemingly the PTU would`ve blocked T4 converting to T3 but as I was throwing them up it didn`t work. My bowel surgeon called endo, she said to stick with the PTU as I could`nt be that sick, lower the dose and I`d be fine. I`m glad I was in hospital and they could see just how much they made me vomit even on low dose. I`m sure endo thinks I lie to her (could be my paranoia though lol). Anyway bowel surgeon then got an endo from hospital I was in to have a look at me and he said stop them right away. I`m taking the magnesium every day (thanks Sheila)but still getting palpitations, also have higher dose of Propanol now. So thats all my news. feel like I`m in limbo now. Hope everyone on here is doing ok. Love Tess
