Guest guest
Hi just need a bit of advice...(sorry for long rambling post) It was a trip to my GP with a catalogue of symptoms that started this journey - long term anemia 15 years +, depression, social anxiety, exhaustion, menstrual problems, fatigue, back/neck pain, blurred vision, weight gain etc etc. When I managed to get my bloods tested on 15 April and asked about the thyroid results, all I was repeatedly told was 'come back and test again in 3 months'. When i demanded to know what he saw in the results that made him say that and requested a copy of the tests from him - the TSH was 6.97 (scale 0.2 - 5). Even though this pointed to hypothyroidism - he would not diagnose that - hence the come back in 3 months ( I hate him!) Anyway, this started me on the journey and getting private tests done from Genova which pointed to Hashimotos, Adrenal fatigue and low ferritin. (see my post 'what does feeling better feel like for you' for those results) I'm losing the ability to function at work and feel like any day now, I'll not be able to get out of bed. But i won't be able to take time off work/get a sick note without an official diagnosis. Should I just change doctors? I'm apprehensive that a new doctor will just dismiss the results of the Genova tests. The new doc also has no idea about my long history of ailments. I feel indecisive on this!! What do you think? Should i change doctors and show them all the Genova test results?? Is there an approach I should take to get a new doc to be sympathetic? If i start self-treating now any new blood tests may make me appear better - and not hypothyroid, before I get an 'official diagnosis'. Grrrr - brain fog at work! I can't get to see Dr. P until July as well!! ramble over!! ada x
