Erfa Thyroid

Hi

I was in contact with the Director of Erfa. He said you can already get it now

if you have a private prescription. You just have to send the prescription to

Erfa in Canada and they will sort things out. Obviously you have to pay for it

and the shipping.

Here's their webpage (NB. the info says for prescriptions from US but the

procedure is the same for presriptions from the UK too).

http://thyroid.erfa.net/index.php/en/component/content/article/1-latest-news/7-s\

teps-to-fill-in-a-prescription-for-thyroid-outside-of-canada.html

Erfa say they are trying to arrange something with IDIS to get Erfa thyroid

distributed here in the UK so that those with NHS prescriptions can get Erfa via

their GPs. However Erfa has been saying this for a while and it doesn't seem

that there is much action forthcoming.

Still if you don't mind paying then at least you can get hold of some now.

Hi Louise,

I see no reason that a Canadian product can't be imported here, if it's a

Commonwealth country ~ same law base as UK +/- EU law.

It'd be mighty unusual for something to be lawful in Canada and illegal here,

one might ask the question...why?

Perhaps Sheila might ask MHRA on Monday?

...the effect of the BTA/RCP diagnostic guideline ought not to have a similar

effect in Canada, if ERFA are distributing their natural desiccated thyroid

hormone product in Canada, it doesn't then become inappropriate in one

jurisdiction and perfectly OK in another.

Except, of course, if it's BSE and beef products from the UK..

If an EU product is OK in Canada ~ harmonised competition law says it ought to

be OK here too....not that the BTA/RCP can alter the rules to ban it here ~ by

the back door.

I am already in touch with Erfa and he is in contact with IDIS

World Medicines to see if this is possible. He will contact me as soon as he

has news. I think the possibility looks strong.

Hi,

I live in Thailand and we CANNOT buy NDT here it seems that although they are

manufactured here we cannot buy them so I've had to order mine from Value

Pharma over the internet - my daughter in the UK tried to order some Thyroid S

for me from Medicapharma who are here in Thailand and although they took the

money - they never arrived - as so many people on this forum have tried and

failed to get also - fortunately Visa have refunded her the money - so although

your son is here in Thailand doubt very much if he will have any success -

expect it is something to do with licenses and all that - unless someone else

knows better - Carol xx

I dunno. Maybe he could ask someone. I guess he's flying? I didn't think

about that. I would think as long as it's not an illegal drug there

shouldn't be a problem. But I don't know what the regulations are. Maybe

he could mail them to you, from there instead? The companies don't seem

to have a problem mailing. But then they're companies. Maybe some of the

others know more about this..

Hi Lilian

If your friend is sensitive to the precise form of sugar in the tablets, ask if

she is lacking the sucrase enzyme that deals with sucrose (it's a dimer ~ two

molecules of sugar {monomer] joined together )

A second question does anyone know which form of sugar is used in Erfa?

Not too sure Sheila as she just said that she didn't feel like she did with the old Armour but more like how she felt when just on synthetic T4/T3.

Lilian

What reactions are those Lilian.

www.valuepharmaceuticals.com

- they call their thyroid extract Armour, but it isn't, it is the Canadian Erfa

'Thyroid'. Also, you don't need a prescription to order it from there. just ensure

you take the 'no Prescription Required' box.

Hi There

Can you please advise where the best place to obtain Erfa Thyroid is.

I have a 6 x month Private Prescription and have been told by Pharmarama that

the cost is £117.00 (plus £6.50 postage).

I take 4 x grains per day. I think that this works out at about 25p per tablet.

Need to order some asap and just wondered where people get their from.

Thanks
