Guest guest
Thanks you to all of you who replied to my query. No, I didn't know that Citalopram may contain fluoride ~ I'll certainly check this out. Also didn't know that antidepressants raise cortisol & will consider this too. Sometimes I feel that in spite of these factors one has to make decisions that aren't 'thyroid care pure' in order to survive! Fiona,my GP isn't suggesting I use them ~ I'm the one considering trying Citalopram drops (Citramil). I've lived with depression since childhood. I've tried antidepressants before but not been able to tolerate the minutest dose. Now considering trying again after many years of trying other avenues. Maybe drops would be easier to fine tune a manageable dose. Unfortunately I'm unable to increase my Nutri Adrenal tabs or T3 to help depression & tolerance is at an end! I'm 60 this year & worn down with life being ebbed away by depression which prevents me from having an active life. My energy has been on the floor for years & the knock on effect is that my confidence has crashed. To be honest I don't have much confidence that antidepressants will necessarily work for me, but when desperate enough it always feels worth another try! What didn't work before may work at another time in one's life. I've learnt that everything can have its place. GABA (gamma amino-butyric acid)is a natural form of valium and nourishes the neurotransmitters. It's a useful supplement for taking the edge off panic and stress, but clinical depression is another story........ Best wishes to all! If I try the drops I'll feed back my experience!
