Doctors do not want extra work.

This story is about switching how they test and diagnose diabetes. If they test one way less people have diabetes and if they test the other way more people have diabetes (the same people). And the more people diagnosed with diabetes the more work the doctors have to do. Obviously they do not care about the health of the person. They would rather do the test which showed they were not diabetic.

So, is this what they are thinking with thyroid patients. After all if they just do the TSH lot more people would not be hypothyroid than if they did the full set of tests, including T3, which might show that more people have hypothyroidism.
