hi all,

I've been offline for a while now -hoping someone can help me understand whats going on...

my background:

I am on 2 grains generic Armour (Thiroyd from Greater Pharma) and take Nutri Adrenal Extra ( since June 2009) and various vitamins. I am a mum of a 4 year old and an 18 month old - so broken nights happen anyway. I also take SERENITY (the natural progesterone cream) which helps my sleep - I take 1/4 tsp twice a day between days 14 and 24 of my monthly.

my problem:

However, in addition to trying to get a good nights sleep (in my books, a good nights sleep is 5 hours - bliss) - I am now getting HEART PALPITATIONS - my heart rate was 143 last night ....and 100 most of the last week.

I have Hashimotos I've been told.

Does anyone know if I should stop the Armour or increase it slowly. I am now stopping the Armour until my heart rate normalises and will slowly increase it.

I will try to call Dr Peatfield as soon as I can and have an appointment with an endo - a Dr Shotliff - on the 8th Jan.

help......?

Would members please note that we do not mention names of doctors we are going to, or have, seen. Our advisers can be named in full, or if you are talking about an author of a book, but just not endos or doctors.

Hi - you could be suffering with any one of the

'Associated Conditions' that go along with being hypothyroid that is stopping

your thyroid hormone from getting properly utilised by the cells. The thyroid

hormone could be lying in your blood going nowhere and causing you toxic

symptoms. These 'Associated Conditions' you can read about under 'Hypothyroidism'

in our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk so go

there, and read all about them.

First, ask your GP to test the following because if any of these

are low in the reference range, the thyroid hormone can't get into the cells in

your body and brain: Ferritin (stored iron), vitamin B12, vitamin D3,

magnesium, zinc, folate and copper. These are vital.

Next, go to our FILES section which you will find on the Home

Page of this forum in the Menu. Scroll down the list until you see 'Medical

Questionnaires' and complete the three that are there. These are Adrenal

Questionnaire, Candida Questionnaire and Reverse T3 Questionnaire. If you score

high on any of them, let us know and we can take it from there. Doctors don't

recognise that any of these can cause problems for sufferers of hypothyroidism.

You are right to stop your thyroid hormone replacement until

your palpitations have disappeared. I would increase your Nutri Adrenal by

another tablet, take 2 with your breakfast and one with lunch. In another

couple of weeks, increase by another NAE and take this with your lunch. You can

take up to 6 NAE daily if necessary.

Are you taking the essential 200mcgs Selenium daily with food.

If not, start taking some now. This is very important to help convert the

mainly inactive thyroxine into the active hormone T3.

Look forward to hearing from you with the results of your tests,

together with the reference ranges.

Luv - Sheila
