Guest guest
hi suzannei've been to see dr p and bought his book, which is invaluable. i've been taking natural thyroid since mid feb and am beginning to see a small but noticeable improvement in my energy levels and mood, i believe it takes some months for it all to kick in properly. there are many others on this forum who are much more knowledgeable than me, but i've found i've also had to look at related conditions, eg adrenal stress and candida, as they are compounding my thyroid problem, and i've had to look at supplements for my adrenals before starting on my thyroid supplements. if you aren't going to see a doctor, i suggest you read your book thoroughly before you start any treatment.cheers deb
Guest guest
Hi suzanne, I've not used this so do not feel able to comment. > thyroid treatment > From: susanne04107@...> > SOrry just noticed its Nutri Thyro complex.> > susanne> > > >> > I posted a message about this last week but got no replies and I can't find it now to bump it. > > > > I have been reading Dr Barry Durrant Peatfield's book and in it when talking about supplements he mentions Nutri Thyroid. If I take this would that give me the extra supplements I need relating to thyroid? I know I would still need iron as my ferritin is low but would it give me correct selenium, vit c etc? I'm a bit worried about trying to take all these seperately so if I could get them all in one table that would be great. Also, has anyone tried this and if so did you find it helped? > > > > Thank you > > susanne> >> > > > > ------------------------------------> > TPA is not medically qualified. Guest guest
Hi, I thought Nutri Thyroid did not contain extra supplements. Below is ingredients info. I took Nutri Thyroid on Dr P's advice after the first consultation. It did nothing for me. Dr P was surprised that I did not feel better - he told me to start with Armour and I started to feel better within a few weeks. But......the endo I saw in 2008 has finally admitted that the Nutri Thyroid I was taking at the time of my blood test could have compromised the results. I am having a long standing row with him because he said I do not have hypothyroidism. So anyone taking NT should mention it to their doctor when having blood tests. B Information Nutri Thyroid provides thyroxin-free thyroid concentrate, boosted by parotid concentrate to help nutritiionally support the thyroid gland. Thyroid hormones help to regulate metabolic rate, body temperature and cellular repair. Thyroid concentrate contains the amino acids required to support healthy function of the thyroid gland. All glandulars are bovine source from New Zealand.

Yes it did help me, but only in a very slow and steady way, to be fair. I really noticed the difference with the Armour. I think there is that much controversy, that many people being told they don't have a thyroid problem, when they do. I think he has a softer approach towards treatment for those who have experienced controversy and not getting NHS help. That was my thoughts anyway and perhaps he was concerned about treating your adrenals with the supplements and also taking the Nutri Thyroid, before going onto Armour. This was how I found the experience anyway. I think it is possible for some people to only need a tiny dose of the nutri thyroid and it keeps them ticking over. I am sure there are reasons why he's cautious at first with people like us. I am wondring if it's a good sign, that perhaps when you are on the Armour you'll notice better functioning? I never had any blood tests while taking it, but have heard from others that it can alter the blood results. Fiona
