Guest guest
This on going lash up with my hospital appointments just goes from bad to worse. I saw a so called Dr back in May this Year, who performed some rather odd tests. One being crouching down while having to keep your whole foot on the floor (which I could not do). If anyone can explain what this was for I've love to know. She ordred blood tests again. Which I went and had 10 days later at my GP's. She also wanted me to attend an sleep clinic but after trying for 4 months to get an appointment I simply gave up on that. October 21st I went back to for a second apppointment. THis time I saw another Dr. He couldn't do anything for me because my blood tests had gone missing from May and there is nothing on my screen " note wise " from my previous visit. He told me sleep clinic was not warrented as without the blood tests results - it would be costly and time wasiting to send me there. He said he would write to my Gp and refer me to a nearer hospital and all my notes would be sent to them he would also get in touch with my GP about the blood test results ( I know they have them because the receptionist has told me but I can't get print offs). Today I get a letter from the new hospital with a blood test order for U & E, GLUCOSE, THYROID FUNCTION, LH, FSH, ORSTRADIOL, TESTOSTERONE, DHEA, PYOLACTIN. All of which I had last time, but got lost on the hosptial system, but not my GPS. I'm very needle phobic and getting fed up with having to have all these tests only to go missing, this is the second time they have gone missing 22 bottles in all. I think I'm going to give up as it seems to me they don't know what their left hand is doing from their right.
Guest guest
Hi , You have a strong case for going to a private hospital and billing the NHS for failures in diagnosis and treatment. Call the local PALS service and ask them what you need to do for your needle phobia now that the NHS has shown incompetence in dealing with your condition. You shouldn't have to put up with this. best wishes Bob [document as best you can] > > This on going lash up with my hospital appointments just goes from bad to worse. > > I saw a so called Dr back in May this Year, who performed some rather odd tests. Guest guest
, I would write to the Chief Executive of the hospital and ask him to find the answers as to why you have been treated so badly and why your notes have gone missing and the horror of now having to have all these blood tests done again. Ask him to investigate and let you know as soon as possible what has happened. Give him the names of the doctors concerned etc. Luv - Sheila This on going lash up with my hospital appointments just goes from bad to worse. Guest guest
Hi I think you need to speak to the PALS people at the hospital (patient advice and liaison service) if you want to keep going there, or at the PCT if you are going somewhere else. I am sure that they can sort out getting the blood results that you have at your GPs back onto the hospital system or transferred to your new hospital - which will be very straightforward but they can also advocate on your behalf about your needle phobia and you may be able to have alternative diagnostic tests instead of blood or they could offer you sedation etc. by the way perhaps the strange test (with you crouching and your foot on the floot) was to look at the achilles tendon response as this can be tight in hypoT. dont give up but do speak to PALS. you can email me privately if you wish and I will find the number if that helps. Guest guest
Hi , I put it down to size- if you have thick limbs then there is less space to 'fold up'! I can't do it either- though my OH can- he is not overweight like me, and men generally have thinner thighs. Constant wearing of high heels can shorten the calf muscles too. To test for slow ankle reflex Dr. P asked me to kneel on a chair and he then tapped the achilles tendon- yes, the response was slow- I was pretty sick at the time. thyroid treatment From: christina@...Date: Mon, 30 Nov 2009 22:17:57 +0000Subject: Re: What is the point! ***I saw a so called Dr back in May this Year, who performed some rather odd tests. One being crouching down while having to keep your whole foot on the floor(which I could not do). If anyone can explain what this was for I've love toknow. Hi , You've been treated appallingly, and like the others say, I would take it up with them..... - and like you I would love to know what the above described test is supposed to tell. I can't perform this position either - try as I might (I have tried many times, just out of curiosity). I often wondered how some (in particular Asian) people are able to crouch down, keeping both their whole feet firmly on the floor. When I try that, I fall over....
