Guest guest
Hi I've just had an " ah ha " moment. I have recently been on T3 only for 3 months to clear tissue resistance due to RT3 and am now mixing a little natural thyroid back into my daily routine. I am experimenting with the times of day I am taking this and the T3 and have just made a discovery. I found that giving myself a T3 boost in the morning (50mcg in 2 doses) and then taking some desiccated at lunchtime (3 grains) was working for me. That them saw me through the evening, if I flagged I took an extra 12.5 of T3 at 5pm. I finished the day with 25mcg of T3 at bed time which improves my sleep quality. I had settled on 25 of T3 on waking and another 25 at 10.30 am and this was working quite well. I had read reports that some people were taking their T3 in 1 or 2 doses a day when I had been taking mine in 5 or 6 so I tried an experiment one day taking 50mcg of T3 on wakening instead of 25 then and 25 later in the morning. I felt very tired that day and took my desiccated early as I was still flagging. I had the afternoon off and slept for a while after lunch, this was a very deep sleep that I had trouble waking from. I checked my temperature before going to sleep and it was 36.1. My afternoon temperatures had normally been 36.8 to 37. The " Ah Ha moment " is that taking all the T3 in one go had stressed my adrenals, which were normally ok, and dropped my temperature as a result leaving me very tired. I also realised that when I had been adjusting for " too much " thyroid I was taking it to the level that I had cortisol to cope with rather than to a level of too much T3. What I thought was hyper thyroid was thyroid induced low cortisol. My symptoms were missing heart beats and a fast pulse rate. This is why I was finding that the same amount of thyroid hormone spread in more smaller doses through the day worked better for me, it was kinder on my adrenals. The moral of this rather long post is that if your adrenals are weak spreading Desiccated Thyroid or T3 through the day in many small doses is kinder on your adrenals than taking it in one or two larger doses.
