Guest guest
Hi Ada Have you tried asking your GP to do the synacthen test? Mine offered to do it in surgery. Also it might be worth just waiting for the endo depending on how bad you feel. Bad results on a saliva test don't necessarily equate to bad results on a synacthen test. Have you had your 9am serum cortisol tested yet? Your GP could easily run that test for you in the meantime. If you don't mind paying a fair whack, there are a couple of places that might be able to help with the synacthen. This company will do it without a GP referral but you would have to have it done at their London lab. Costs £367.24... http://www.medichecks.com/index.cfm?s=2 & d=21 & test=SYNA & name=Synacthen%20Stimulat\ ion%20Test You could join e-med - a private online GP service. They say they can organize tests anywhere in the world so you might get something more local to you. Membership costs £20 a year to join, £15 per test request plus the cost of the test. Maybe email them first to see if they will do it in your area... http://www.e-med.co.uk/
Guest guest
I didn't bother with them because I was told their tests took ages to come back, but that was a long time ago. I am very happy to promote Genova as I have found them excellent - and they do give our members discounts on thyroid and adrenal tests. Luv - Sheila Hi amanda, They are much promoted by thyroidUK, but that's all i know. > > Hi everyone, > > I found Big Apple labs now Big apple clinic, does anyone know anything about them please? > > . > > > > > > > > I've been advised from the forum to check if I have Addisions with such low results BEFORE I get treated for any hypo symptoms but wanted to know if anybody knows or has gotten the ACTH/short synacthen test done at a private lab or hospital without a referral from a GP. > > > > My GP is writing a referral to an endo (selected from the list) but that could take weeks so I wanted to see if could get this test done in the meantime. > > > > Thanks, > > > > ada > > x > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > TPA is not medically qualified. Guest guest
I used Red Apple and found them to be very good. You get a full explanatory report on each of the results, not just a load of numbers that you have to get interpreted. > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I found Big Apple labs now Big apple clinic, does anyone know anything about them please? > > > > . > > >
Guest guest
I'm more than happy to recommend Genova too, but I can't find this test in their lists. Have I missed it, or isn't it there? > ..
