Guest guest
Hi all, am still waiting for my new order of Armour Thyroid from Value Pharma - so not yet started on the NDT, however, I am still taking my LevoT 125mg per day - last thing at night and in the mornings before breakfast have been taking Pink Himalayan Rock Salt (Sole x 1 teaspoon in water)for about 5 days now. With breakfast (Muesli with fresh fruit - yellow mango, watermelon, Snow Pear and Dragon Fruit - natural yoghurt, semi skimmed milk. I take 1 Cod Liver Oil Capsule, 2 x 1000mg Vit C and 2 x 14g Ferrous Sulphate (Iron)- have been taking these for about 2 months now. For the past few days I have felt really good, had energy, felt happy with very little pains in my joints - wondered if this was down to the Sole Therapy and thought I was making progress......... then today....... here I am feeling REALLY BAD again, really painful joints, especially the knees, hips and shoulders, I feel really tired and very down and feel stressed although I have NO viable/logical reason to feel like this!!!! (My sleep last night wasn't that good and I had an unpleasant dream - wonder if this has anything to do with my 'mood' usually my dreams are very good) So why has this happened? - is this what happens, two steps forwards and then 1 step back on the road to recovery - does/has anyone else experienced this yoyo-ing feeling good then feeling bad? Any comments would be so appreciated - many thanks in advance - Carol xx

Guest guest
Hi Carole, I hadn't replied as I couldn't thing of anything helpful to say. I don't take salt so have no experience of that. It would be better to see how you do when the NDT comes. Oh! before you start it do the adrenal questionnaire first as if you adrenals aren't up to scratch then NDT may not help much. > Subject: Re: Why Am I Feeling Like This - Anyone?> > Can ANYONE / SOMEONE comment on my post PLEASE........> > > > > > >> > Hi all, am still waiting for my new order of Armour Thyroid from Value Pharma - so not yet started on the NDT, however, > > > > I am still taking my LevoT 125mg per day - last thing at night> > > > and in the mornings before breakfast have been taking Pink Himalayan Rock Salt (Sole x 1 teaspoon in water)for about 5 days now. > > > > With breakfast (Muesli with fresh fruit - yellow mango, watermelon, Snow Pear and Dragon Fruit - natural yoghurt, semi skimmed milk. Guest guest
Hi there I do get a lot of yoyo times, I think I am improving then I get worse and it is soul destroying so I understand your frustration. Please take your iron well away from your thyroid hormones by at least 4 hours as it inhibits absorbtion. I will tell you though if my electrolytes go off a little I feel terrible with pain and cramps. Also sleep is so much to do with it yes, a few nights of insomnia really wrecks me. I think it is important if you are going more steps forward than back to be optimistic You WILL get better though, as long as the cortisol (and possibly sorting of aldosterone and renin problems), ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate and thyroid hormone levels are sorted properly for your body. Or at least that is what the advocates on one forum confidently say and I have no reason to disbelieve them lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Could it be that the salt has disturbed your potassium/sodium ratio? if so, could low potassium account for your symptoms? (google low potassium) why take rock salt? why not just buy a multi mineral formula? you can get colloidal trace minerals, or a food based mineral such as that from 'Nature's Own'. What else has happened today? what have you done differently? Guest guest
Hi Carol, Do you give yourself a break from iron every so often? My guess is that too much iron for too long may well impede absorbtion of other vital nutrients....whatever else you do.. I have low iron, and i cannot tell you how, with thyriod probs, together they make life hell. I would not take my iron with milk or yoghurt. Can you just take it later with the vit c?, maybe lunch time? and then it is still away from your levo. I now take my iron away from my other supplements. Why dont you try some protein for breakfast? its what your body craves first thing, then have the fruit.( it may help) FYI, I started on NT a few weeks ago, was taking 125 mcgs thryroxine, and at first it was totall hell, as i started off on quarter grain twice a day for a few weeks. it was nowhere near enough for me and the fatigue and foot pain was almost unbearable. i am now up to one and a half grains and starting to feel better. I will raise the dose in a few weeks and see how i go. I know how it grinds you down, when yet another day is exhausting and painfull. Hope you feel better soon, Jan xx >
