Guest guest
Absolutely Miriam - this is a cause of Hypothyroidism Type 2 - where normal thyroid function tests won't work. I am aware of the hair analysis for potassium and calcium, but can't this be tested through serum - and free on the NHS? Could this be the test we are looking for if the thyroid GLAND function tests are normal, but the patient complains of the symptoms and has the signs of hypothyroidism. …and what is the little critter crawling around your message???? Luv - Sheila PS - as this topic is 'Thyroid' I have posted a copy onto the main forum. Something interesting he said was this. What do you make of it? & #13; & #10; & #13; & #10;The calcium/potassium ratio gives an indication of thyroid function. The higher the calcium is, the more it interferes with the permeability of the cell Ð a calcium shell is formed. You can judge the calcium level from a hair sample. An average ratio is 4:1 (calcium: potassium). Thus you can monitor the effect of T3 at the tissue level. & #13; & #10; & #13; & #10;Miriam & #13; & #10; & #13; & #10;--- In thyroid treatment_Chat , " miriam_hinch " <miriam_hinch@...> wrote: & #13; & #10;> & #13; & #10;> I am seeing a mercury-free dentist in Bristol to get my fillings changed. Guest guest
Looks like the formatting hasn't appeared right - carriage returns etc. This may be because I was making notes for myself about my appointment and decided to copy and paste this bit to the group instead of typing it in directly. & #13; & #10; & #13; & #10;Miriam & #13; & #10; & #13; & #10; & #13; & #10;> …and what is the little critter crawling around your message???? & #13; & #10;
