Guest guest
Read here Mo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melasma - this can be related to hypothyroidism, and also hypoadrenalism http://www.ijpc.com/rxtriad/pdf/RxTriad_V10_N07_Sample.pdf I would recommend your friend ask her GP to give her a copy of all her thyroid function tests with ref. ranges Mo and post them here so we can see whether her doctor is right in telling her TFT's are 'normal'. Luv - Sheila Does anyone know if there is a connection between these two. I ask on behalf of a friend who was diagnosed hyperthyroid some years ago. I ran into her the other evening and was shocked at her appearance. She is very tall, slim and elegant. Or at least she was. She looks like she has aged ten years, pas put on a lot of weight and has these brown marks all over her face. She says her GP tells her her thyroid results are " fine " and that the pregnancy mask is from a contraceptive pill she took for a while a year or two ago. ??????????? thanks. Guest guest
Oh thanks Sheila. I have suspected her adrenals for some time as she has always been a nervous wreck and I met her father and he was the same. Neither of them can stop talking for a second which made me think hyperT. Her young daughter (about 11/12 is starting to look like she is on the road to obesity, more reason for suspicion I reckon). She will be coming to my Hallowe'en party (anyone from this list welcome if they can get to Exeter btw) and I will pass the info on. She will be a hard nut to crack as, like a lot of folk, she believes the doctors. Ta.
