Is this new formula armour? Did anyone work out what to do to make it absorb

better? I thought it might work with betaine HCL, but no one evr commented or

tried this....

Yes, this is the new formulae. It apparently has been found to

work if the tablets are crushed, if taken with a little bit of sugar or taken

with citric acid. I have not personally tried any of these. I have not heard of

anybody trying betaine HCL - what is this?

Hi,

(Lamberts) Betaine HCL, is betaine hydrocloride and it's what you use for low

stomach acid. One tablet with food helps digestion as it makes more stomach

acid. The docs keep treating people with problems, by giving out antacids but

what is actually needed in many cases is MORE acid. But the docs have

forgotten they were taught this.

No - but today, I posted that the 1 1/2 grains and the 2 grains

are available at International Pharmacy and 3 grains of Nature Throid are

available. Afshin has to wait until he is told there are new stocks available.

Hi amanda, The formula has not changed back to the best of my knowledge. Your suggestion that betaine HCL may help is a logical one as there was a snip posted here- can't recall if it was Shomon or Stop the thyroid madness that said the problems with absorption of new Armour seemed to be worse in folk who do not digest well as the problem seems to be the cellulose filler that hangs onto the thyroid hormones too tightly and won't let them be absorbed. Excuse me jumping in here, just noticed the cellulose filler bit and I am aware

that there is something in digestive ezymes (which are good to take with the

betaine, not at same time though) to break down the food first for digestion.

There are enzymes in food and then our own production which is sometimes

compromised hence the need for supplementation. Protease is one enzyme for

digesting protein, then there is amylase which I THINK helps digest vegetable

matter, then lipase for fats and there is another one which helps digest

cellulose, sorry brain fog does not permit recall
