Guest guest
Have just had results of my blood and would be grateful for any advice. They were all with in " Range " so everything is ok then!! Even though I feel like a washed out rag! I think some results are a bit low, would you agree, and should I start taking supplement support? B12: 351 (211-911) Serum Ferritin: 70 (10-322) Serum Folate: 7.1 (5.4-24.0) HB: 13.4 (11.5-16.0) Serum Sodium: 143 (135-145) Serum Potassium: 4.4 (3.55.0) (Zinc and calc not yet done - nurse forget to fill the tube!) Thanks Han
Guest guest
Hi Hannah, B12 in particualr could do with being a lot nearer then top of the range and ferritin is OK ,but you may do better with trying to get it a bit higher. folate is near the bottom too.I assume the range for potassium is 3.5 to 5.5 so that's midrange . you can do a quick check for zinc by sucking a zinc gluconate tablet- it it tastes chalky it's low and if it tastes srtongly sharp and metallic you're OK If you decide to take zinc it should be15 -1 with copper as one will deplete the other if you don't. > thyroid treatment > From: hannahleahy@...> Date: Fri, 13 Aug 2010 17:53:49 +0000> Subject: Blood Results - Help Appreciated Please> > Have just had results of my blood and would be grateful for any advice. SHEILA __________________________________________ Hi What would you suggest I take regarding my low folate, I have started taking B12 now as I'm concerned that the result is low, but I'm not sure what take for the folate. Also what dose of iron/brand would you suggest. Thanks Han > B12 in particualr could do with being a lot nearer then top of the range and ferritin is OK ,but you may do better with trying to get it a bit higher. folate is near the bottom too. > I assume the range for potassium is 3.5 to 5.5 so that's midrange . > you can do a quick check for zinc by sucking a zinc gluconate tablet- it it tastes chalky it's low and if it tastes srtongly sharp and metallic you're OK If you decide to take zinc it should be15 -1 with copper as one will deplete the other if you don't. >
