Hi Everyone

I have now got my blood results back following my recent visit with Dr M. They

are as follows :-

Calcium (bone profile) 2.30 range(2.2-2.6)

Creatinine 59 range (48-108)

Urea 3.6 range (2.5-7.5)

Vitamin Dp 54 (no range) followed by a note to say that if possible they prefer

the Vit Dp to be >60 so I can take supplements for this.

I would like to know what everyone thinks about the Vitamin D and should I be

asking for a prescription.

Regards

Lizzie

Hi Lizzie,

my endo wants me to be at at least '75'...... I think the ref range is 0-120 if my memory serves (ha ha). Hopefully someone else can confirm this. The gp's usually dish out the 200mg of D3 which is a pretty low dose. I asssume they do this to stop people from overdosing between the long waits in between blood tests. You can give yourself a big blast of D3.....20,000 iu for six weeks then reduce to a more sensible amount. I take 15,000 iu a week as I'm still low (45) . The brand I use is "Now High Potency Vit D-3 5,000 iu softgels" They haven't got anything horrible in them and they are not too expensive. Well, now you know that you are a bit on the low side, this could explain a lot. You'll feel so much better once you get your levels up. Good news.
