Guest guest
As you know from my other topic, I also have ME/CFS. I am sure there is a high number of people with ME/CFS who have an OK T4 but poor T3 and T3 conversion. Is there anybody else here with ME/CFS and thyroid problem? Which diagnosis came first? From what I understand the majority of people do OK on Levothyroxine alone, but there seems to be people for some reason who don't convert well and need T3 as well. So I gather there are many people here in that situation. So if you don't have ME/CFS, do you have some additional diagnosis? A while ago GPs were insistant that I take SSRI anti-depressants, even though I didn't have acutal depression. There is a blanket prescription of tablets to see if it helps the fatigue and when it doesn't they increase dose, change tablets you name it, in short keeping you on them for ages until you or another health professional insist you come off them. So I was wondering if many of you have had anti-depressants before you were diagnosed with your hypothyroid and if you attribute these tablets as also making you more susceptible. Fiona.
