Gilbert's and thyroid

Hi all,

been busy with house that's still not finished and two kids come down with swine

flu. Was diagnosed as having the former about 3 weeks ago, and at same time,

given antibiotics for a chest infection, this never really abated, think all

running around left me rundown and been put on stronger ones to take 4 times a

day..doctor thinks now may have whooping cough..??!

Anyway these are not really agreeing with me making me feel quite quesy, and

light headed and face and eyes were yellow for a while yesterday..The diagnosis

was given in a matter of fact way as it's benign condition, but thought you have

to be careful with these antib's given sometimes the effect it can have on the

liver as per patient info..Have been scouting about a few Gilbert's forums, and

although not as nearly as active as this one seem to be quite a lot of

consternation of how they are treated by the medical profession and the symptoms

they present are brushed aside or treated in an unrelated matter..sound

familiar..? there also seems to be some correlation between Gilbert's and

thyroid/heavy metal poisoning/toxicity accoring to some posts/members..will post

links if i can find them again if required.

I know zinc supposed to help with infections, but not sure what the safe dose is

and for how long to take it, i do take at the moment but only to boost

conversion and once finished small tub was intending to stop. All my thyroid

symptoms still there, and my skin, scalp especially is suffering. Until this

infection took hold again, was seeing a small improvement through the generic

armour started 2 weeks ago. Does anybody have any suggestions to treat this

infection hollistically so can set back on the road to an improved

thyroid/health..?
