Guest guest
When I was pregnant, I became very anaemic and was given Inferon Injections in my bum. Not a pleasant experience, because the iron had a tendency to leak out and stain clothing, they pushed the needle in deep and then had to twist the needle in another direction. It hurt. However, these days, I am sure they have refined their method of injecting iron. I would ask your GP about this. hi all my ferritin remains low at 27 despite taking iron for months according to all the recommendations about vit c, away from calcium etc i'm thinking of asking my gp about iv iron and was wondering if anyone had any experience of this. i will need to sell it to him as last time i spoke to him he said i'd been on iron long enough! thanks susie x No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
I have had the iron injections in the rear. I wasn't allowed to have any more after they (presumably the lab my practice uses) told the GPs that they wouldn't test for ferritin any more. I was told that since this meant they wouldn't know if I'd had too much iron, it was dangerous to use injections! I now usually take Spatone or iron tabs from the Dr. and my GP can usually get them to test for ferritin anyway. Strangely, although the iron tablets from the Dr are much stronger than the Spatone sachets, I seem to be able to absorb the iron from from the Spatone more easily. Guest guest
I was asking at the clinic where I get Vit C infusion and they told me that Iron infusion is only done in hospital as people can have serious side affects/reactions. The nurse also told me that many people ask about iron infusion. BTW, I get 25,000 Vit C, Magnesium, zinc and B's in the solution. Guest guest
Hi all. I saw Dr P on Saturday and he suggested I try Spatone so will be giving that a whirl. The cheapest I've found it so far is on amazon and the reviews there are very good, so lets hope it does the trick.
Guest guest
I usually get my Spatone from Boots when they have a three for two offer, don't know if this is cheaper than Amazon though. I think the normal Boots price is about £7.00 each. Louise. > > > > Hi all. I saw Dr P on Saturday and he suggested I try Spatone so will be giving that a whirl. Guest guest
Hi there, My Mother way back in the 60’s often had to have 8 pints of blood transfused and was often seriously anaemic (ulcerative colitis). But she nearly died when she was given IV iron – as her body could not metabolise it properly. Low and behold it comes to pass she had thyroid disease not diagnosed till she was nearly 80 – hence why she was always anaemic and hence why she couldn’t metabolise it properly. So I would say your Dr was quite right to show his feelings on this. It is a very vital component but can also be very dangerous if taken to excess which also means taking in large amounts if you can’t remove it from the body sufficiently. As I always try to tell everyone – easy does it. Our poor kidneys and liver just can’t take too much in one go – they have enough work to do it as it is. Kind regards Mandy
Guest guest
I think spatone is available at Boots on their 3 for the price of two offer. I don't know how that compares to the price you have found on amazon though. Judy > > > > Hi all. I saw Dr P on Saturday and he suggested I try Spatone so will be giving that a whirl.
