Guest guest
Hi everyone again! I just thought I would keep you up-dated on my continuing effort to cure whatever is causing this pain. I had the results of a 24 hour urine test which stated that my T3 was well in the 'red' zone i.e. not having enough T3 in my body. Then I had blood tests that stated that the ESR was well over the normal range so that indicated that I had some inflammatory thing going on in my body. Since then I have seen a private endocrinologist who did blood tests which showed that my T3 was within the 'normal' range, near the top end but still supposedly 'normal'. I showed this private endo. the results of my 24 hour urine test which was abnormal and she said that I shouldn't take any notice of this test and that 'you can only measure T3 by blood tests'. I do not want to see her again and am certainly not going to pay another £100.00 or more to see her just so that she probably won't prescribe me T3, she wouldn't discuss this with me on the phone. I just think it is probably unlikely that she will prescribe me T3 if my blood test said that I am within the normal range. I have an NHS appointment to see an endocrinologist in August and I will see what he says. In the mean time I am buying T3 on the internet to give it a trial to see if that cures these pains. If it proves to be just as expensive to buy T3 as it is to buy Erfa or similar I might go back to that but at present I find it hard to afford buying this as I am not paying for Levothyroxine that I get on prescription. I suppose it is a matter of trial and error until I find the right stuff I am supposed to be taking. Thanks. Ann.
