Guest guest
Hi MandaI hope you have got this sorted - I think you need to take antibiotics if its a urine infection that is causing back pain - only alternative I can think of is garlic - which is very good as an antibiotic and antiseptic but as these sort of infections can end up scarring kidneys etc its not one to mess around with!funnily enough (although its not funny is it!) Ive had the same thing - though no cystitis pain (one of the reasons we left early from the TPA do at sheila's as I was feeling rough) but it hasnt shown up as an infection on the urine tests and even after a course of trimethoprim it hasnt settled properly - much better now but still a bit of kidney pain. Im now due to have an ultrasound and just had a load of bloods done.I hope you are feeling better by now and hope to spend some more time with you and Ian at the next year's 'do' - hopefully we will stay over!GillCould anyone tell me of somthing i could perhaps buy from the health shop.....really don,t want antibiotics again, been on/off them since dec 09. Guest guest
Shilajit is supposed to work wonders for the immune system, kidneys, HPA axis, and thyroid, the whole body benefits really. It has been used in ayervedic medicine for thousands of years. It is composed of fulvic acid and just about every trace mineral, plus a range of polyphenols and other substances, all in an organic extremely bio available form. For the benefits of fulvic acid, just do a google search:) And you can do a search on Shilajit or Mumie(the Russian name for it). Lots of stuff on the web about both. Other places have other names for it. Guest guest
hi tumeric helps with fighting off infections, and of not taking it zinc to boost the immune system, if you have no choice but to take antibiotics mak sure to take strong probiotic to balance gut flora, like acidophilus if not taking already.. xx
Guest guest
HI MANDA I can understand you not wanting antibiotics, as antibiotics upset ones stomach and this causes a woman to become re-infected. Have you ever read Kilmartin's book on Cystitas. When I first had problems after having children an x-ray established what was already known to my family, but not to me that I had a Duplex Kidney which has two ureters on my right side. I have since found a connection with hypothyroidism and renal defects when the mother has hypothyroidism the unborn child can suffer. I had tests done, but was sent home in a worse condition being told that they could find nothing wrong. My marriage was never a happy one, and coupled with a male that drunk heavily who refused to seek help for his health problems or attend marriage guidence. I ended up on antidepressants after being sterilised when things got worse, and Doctors took no notice, except a variety of drugs that do not cure, but cause further problems, and damage caused by drugs etc. All this is going through complaints procedure, but if any Doctor tells you that you have an irritable colon tell him to come up with a correct diagnoses as this is not a diagnoses. It appears now that the hospital are comming round to the fact that damage could have been done to the bowel when they sterilised me, but I also have a history of polyps. I am now told that the last thing they would consider as a cause of a water infection would be a rectocele (bowel prolapse). The bowel pushes down and causes a cystocele, and incontinence. A ring was put in to start with but that in turn caused infection. Surgery was eventually done, but the prolapse has caused problems for several years with this tape holding the bladder up, so hence more pain in back and bladder plus other areas which I assume to be further inflammation. I had to leave my former Husband in 2001 having had further surgery and enduring a bad 3 months in a refuge, but I divorced last year. I do not entirely blame him as the NHS is also partly to blame, but I feel many marriages break up due to insufficient care in the NHS. One thing DR MYHILL says is that bath water can cause an infection, and I keep feeling that its due to chlorinated water that in turn kills off good bacteria. Kilmartin states in her book that when it was a tin bath beside the fire the Mother was last in when it was cooler, and did not have as many baths in those days, and not the infections that women get today. I think a viral infection can cause it too. I cannot take antibiotics as they cause me to be worse, but we did not have antibiotics years ago, but today we have more health problems and more cancer. Try and do a list of what you do, what you use and eat to see if you can link the cause, as you seem to be getting a lot of infections. Do away with synthetic clothing including tights. I cannot have synthetics on the bed, and try not to get upset, so you end up on drugs like I had thrown at me. After 14 years on a tranqulizer I ended up with breast cancer, plus the damage to the waterworks from all the weight put on. I hope you can locate the cause.
