Guest guest
> My tongue has indents too, sometimes worse than others and a crack down the middle and a few indents. From my research the main thing that stood out was an article that said the indents will dissapear once the thyroid is sorted (sorry no ref- found it on Google). So yeah, if you're needing T3 then once you've been on it, they may > improve/dissapear. I think it's mainly teeth indents at the sides, but there are a few earthquake-type crevices in the middle. Actually you should see my Dad's tongue!! He has a list of medical problems, but his tongue is very dry and earthquake ridden looking. What I find odd about all this, is that I never had this first time round, perhaps there was something about Nutri Thyroid and then Armour that prevented it in comparison to Levothyroxine? If a sore tongue is a sign of iron deficiency, then it's a good job the GP agreed to a prescription of Ferrous Sulphate then! So it could be part iron and part thyroid related then. As for any sluggish digestive system. The only thing I can really identify with is that my stomach is fat looking, probably lack of T3 and all that goes with it if it means reduced metabolism. I am on a whole list of nutritional supplements. 4 Nutri Adrenal Extra Vit C Vit E Magnesium Q10 Selenium Glutathione I am not too concerned about absorption at gut level. But perhaps there are issues with ME/CFS with regards to what actually gets to the cells. We all know about thyroid hormones in that respect. For example my translocator protein blood test showed I was low in Magnesium. So when you see all that I take (seem to be taking supplements at every opportunity) I would hope it's not a deficiency as such, but perhaps if it is deficiency related, it's the iron, or reduced metabolism due to the thyroid? Mandy's experience sounds awful and dangerous! I will look up the termiology Geographic Tongue. Fiona
