Hi

It's 30 years since I did Chemistry at school but if I remember my

periodic table correctly Iodine is one of the Halogens along with

Fluorine and Bromine which both get mentioned as affecting thyroid

function.

The other halogen, and the most common one, is Chlorine which is added

copiously to drinking water and swimming pools etc. It's also locked

up with Sodium in common salt.

The question I am leading up to is " does Chlorine interact with

thyroid function in any way " ????.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Nick
