Guest guest
Last year after being on 25mcg of Levo my GP put my dose up to 50mcg. A few days (3 -5) after taking the dose I felt terrible. I had zero energy and just sat and cried all day. The GP put me back down to 25mcg but then raised it a few months later with no problems. I have been on 50mcg for a good few months now (at least 4) but on my last bloods TSH had risen again to over 8 so increased Levo again to 75mcg. I started this last Wednesday. Yesterday I felt terrible again. My legs and arms felt like lead and I felt like I could have slept all day. I still feel the same today. I thought last time was probably a coincidence and maybe a virus or something had caused me to feel so rotten but now its happened again. I dont want to drop my dose again. Has anyone else experienced this? Im also taking 1 Nutri Adrenal Extra a day. Should I increase this to see if it helps? I have been taking it for about 3 weeks now. Thank you. Guest guest
If this was me, I would stop my levothyroxine for at least 7 days and increase the nutri adrenal extra by taking another tablet with lunch. After that time, start the levothyroxine back again and after another 7 days, increase your NAE by another tablet with breakfast. Keep increasing (if necessary) your NAE by another tablet and take that with lunch after another 7 to 10 days and see whether you start to feel better. You can take up to 6 tablets of NAE daily, but if the levothyroxine still is not getting into your cells, you will probably need HC. Alternatively, ask your GP to test your ferritin, B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc. If any of these are low, you will need to supplement before your thyroxine will start to work. Get the results for these and post them here on the forum together with the reference range for each. Luv - Sheila …increased Levo again to 75mcg. I started this last Wednesday.
