Hello ,

Count me in, please. - I may bring a friend with me, but at present chances are 50/50, as she might have to go back to the States before October... I'll let you know closer to the time.

May I make a suggestion? If you want to keep this thread going for everyone to reply who plans on coming to the meeting in October, then this thread should somehow be kept recent; else, within a day it will be burried among the daily mails and nobody will find it again. I am totally clueless when it comes to computers - just hoping someone will have the 'know-how'.

Also - I thought it was an excellent idea to have name tags last time. I think it was Sheila's who painstakingly produced them all... so a big 'thank you' again to him in retrospect. I hope we'll have tags again in October - perhaps even with our respective -ID's on them (?), which would be a great help in putting faces to names, particularly when Christian names are doubling up.

Love,

Icke (auto_immune)

Also, this discussion should go onto the Chat Forum. Remember

though there are many members who don't use the forum, they only come on when

they need some information, or they have information to impart, so I still feel

it would be better to write to just the one person who is compiling the list of

guests. Problem with the username being written is well as that these name tags

are only small. The larger one's come with a plastic casing which work out VERY

expensive, and it would be the larger one's that would be needed to have both

names on.

- can I just mention that some people with poor

eyesight might have difficulty in reading writing in pale blue - is it possible

you could pick another colour which is sharper to read?

I beleive the room holds around a hundred people, so the sooner you can confirm

how many of you thee are, the better really. But I'd think it will take a

couple of weeks or so before people have decided...

Awe Tess - I had to laugh at this - bring your daughter - she's

Numbers are growing on this meeting!

In a couple of days I'll put up a list of who is going... Anyone thought about

where to stay yet? I'll probably go for the travelodge option. It's cheap and

cheerful.

stay until the Sunday.

I`ve just been looking at flights......Yippee I love a bargain...£2.02 there and

£2.02 back £28 with flight supplements, tried to book it but

sites went down so will try again tomorrow.

I`m looking forward to it

Don't

forget the same weekend is the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham so

accommodation in the City Centre could be difficult to find, and if found, they

seem to put their prices up at such times. Look at the cheap, cheerful but

basic hotel mentioned in the Newsletter. This is the Etap, and the room rates are the same

for both Friday & Saturday i.e.:- £55.00 per night per double room. This is

a basic hotel but with good clean rooms for 3 people (with a bunk bed) plus

flat screen TV – a comfort shower and separate toilet. Perhaps if quite a

few stayed there, they could share a taxi(s) to the Chung Ying Gardens. http://www.etaphotel.com/gb/hotel-5678-etap-hotel-etap-hotel-birmingham-centre/index.shtml

(This is from Miriam, .. was sent to me but I think it should be here).

Do you know whether the restaurant will be offering plenty of low carb options? After all, according to Dr Peatfield we are all supposed to be following a low carb diet. ie. will I be able to fill up on the main dishes without having rice/noodles etc?Miriam

Hi Tess,

I looked at the travelodge on Newhall Street, which is 0.8 miles from the

meeting.... It's £45 per night, but the Etap mentioned on the newsletter looks

like perhaps a better bet, as it has a bar and parking. £55 per night per

room.

There will be no 'options' for the meal as it is a set menu -

what is in the newsletter is the agreed Chinese meal - you can have all or any

of the options there, as they will be in bowls to share on each table. If

anybody wants anything different, they should contact and arrange it with

him, as it states in the newsletter. The telephone number for the Restaurant is

there also.

Would you mark me as a definite now please?

I'm making a mini-holiday of it, so have booked a week in a country cottage

starting from the day before the meet.

While on the phone to the owner to make the booking, we got chatting and it

turns out that him, his wife and their son all have underactive thyroids. How

spooky was that?!

Oh, and may I join the -No-Mates-Group please? ;o)
