Hi Tess - it is SO good to have you back safe and sound with us

again, and to know that you are starting to feel better so quickly is

wonderful. Keep us posted, and pleased to hear you are happy with the

scar. That will soon fade - I was talking with somebody the other day who had a

thyroidectomy, and I couldn't even see the scar it had healed so brilliantly.

Luv - Sheila

Hi everyone,

Thats me home from hospital and it all went without a hitch. I can

actually feel a difference already, not so brain fogged for a start!

I`d say the worst part was getting the drain out.....ouch but I`ve

had a wee peek at my scar and its looking good. Everyone was really

nice, glad to be home though :-)

I`ll get rest of stitches out on Wed.......all in all its looking

good and I`m so so glad to be rid of my horrible thyroid.

I`m still a bit tired and sore so I`m off for a lie down :-)

Love

Tess

Hi Tess

Really pleased that the op went so well, good for you!!. I can appreciate what

you have been through, as I had a total thyroidectomy myself, approx 20 years

ago, so can speak from experience.

You may feel rather fatigued for a while, just go with the flow and let the body

heal itself, don't try and overdo things initially.

Take Care & Here's wishing you the very best of health, real soon!!

Luv - Marie xx

Thanks folks,

I was started on 100mcg thyroxine on Thursday so will see how I go

with that, still got thyroid s I bought last year but will see how

I go with the thyroxine 1st.

I woke up this morning raring to go.....actually went out for lunch

(first time I think in yr and 1/2) and have had visitors this evening

and I was joining in the conversation!!!!

My sister noticed my stomach as soon as she came in, it was still

really bloated in hospital (overdue with quadruplets bloated) and

has been that way for months despite loads antibiotics for bouts of

Diverticulitis, nearly all swelling has gone now :-)

So its been another good day but I`m knackered again (good tired though)

so am off to bed.

Love

Tess

Take it steady Tess - you will feel like doing stuff you haven't

been able to do for months, but it needs to be done steadily, otherwise, you

will be ending up thoroughly exhausted. Slowly, slowly catchee Monkee!

Lol Sheila,

Wish I`d seen your advice before I started doing the garden yesterday

yeah I`m exhausted....still good though but I am going to take it a bit slower

now.

Thats the way I used to be...just go for it.....dare I tempt fate and

say I`m nearly " normal " .

I`m off to get my stitches out now.

Hi Tess, So good to hear your op finally went ahead and went well. I do hope after what you've been through that your replacement therapy goes as smoothly. > thyroid treatment > From: tessfleming@...> Date: Sun, 2 May 2010 15:18:19 +0000> Subject: Hi all my thyroids gone :-)> > > Hi everyone,> > Thats me home from hospital and it all went without a hitch. Hi ,

Thanks, the difference and in only a week is amazing and my new GP

seems to be on the ball...we`ll wait and see though but the way she

was talking was all good, she wants me at top of range with both T3 and T4 so

fingers crossed.

One thing though I`ll be fighting every inch of the way now :-)
