Guest guest
If you want to supplement omega 3 fatty acid from fish make sure they come from uncontaminated sources ...research suggests that most fish have high levels of mercury and other nasties. (I use krill oil) Omega 3 Fatty Acids are known as " Essential Fatty Acids " ...we NEED them but cannot make them ourselves so we have to have an external source. There are plant sources and there are fish sources http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/omega-3-000316.htm Omega 3's are beneficial to reduce INFLAMMATION ...inflammation is present in all sorts of diseases, particularly hardening of the arteries. Currently there is a lot of evidence to suggest that the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 has got dangerously distorted ...using polyunstaurated oils is one of the reasons http://www.natural-cancer-cures.com/healthy-cooking-oils.html Our brains benefit from good omega 3 as well Trish (As a general note on supplements ...cheap probably means ANTI-health due to ineffective amounts of active ingredient, inferiour ingredient, fillers and so on). > > don't know the exact name. are they useful for us? my osteopath told me to take some. but what exactly are they for?? i buy them cheaply at the supermarket but the chemist said they are not strrong enough. what is the ideal dosage? > thanks > berny >
