Hi hilary, Try writing a letter and asking for it to be kept on file- and cc head of practice. Ask why those results have been ignored and list your symptoms, ask for a referral to an endo of your choice- then ask sheila for her list. doc take notice of letters because they may bite back if they refuse to take notice.- Oh, and keep a copy in case he puts it in file 13 ! thyroid treatment From: hilary77@...Date: Sat, 26 Jun 2010 21:49:38 +0000Subject: Please Help! Hi! all

First of all I would just like to say a big thank you to Sheila and all the other experienced helpers that offer their help & advice..

I asked for the blood tests as per the files after a lot of messing around I have finaly got the results after being told over the phone that they were all NORMAL except for Thyroid antibody/TPO which was HIGH 1300 ( range 0-60 U ) against which the doctor has written NORMAL - No Action

I now know that 2 other tests are also showing ** ABNORMAL **... which is how it is printed in large caps on top of pages.. so my doctor could not fail to see it!!

Iron Profile (Next to this my doctor has written NORMAL - No Action)

Serum Iron Level ..23 (Range 5-30)Unsaturated Iron Binding Capacity.. 36 (no range given)Serum TIBC .. HI .. 59 (Range 28-54)

The other test which is the one that is worrying me again at the top of the page ** ABNORMAL **

Full Blood Count (Next to this my doctor has written NORMAL - No Action)

Mean Platelet Volume .. LO .. 9.3 (Range 11.6-14.0) according to searches this could be indicative of Leukaemia??

There are a lot of other readings under the Full Blood Count which are Normal but are only just within the ranges. I can post these if they are needed for interpretation.

Three tests are ABNORMAL .. and my doctor has written Normal - No action next to the tests!! surely some action should be taken even if it is only an appointement to discuss the results .. I feel so let down by my GP's as I have mentioned before the majority of GP's got together to form a large group and as far as I know there is only one independant practice.. I have only seen the doctor that I am registered with twice in four years and it is pot luck who you get to see... I feel as if I have been abandoned & just thrown on the scrap heap.

When I asked for the tests it did not go down well at all especially when I mentioned I was self medicating I think this maybe the reason for lack of empathy??

Any help advice will be gratefully received
