Guest guest
I am down to my last of the new armour and have to make a decision as to which way to go now. International pharmacy have emailed me to say that they have nature-throid in stock which has the same amount of t4 and t3 as armour. Can anyone please advise me which to go for. I have been fine on both the old and new armour. Thanks
Guest guest
International Pharmacy also let me know they are expecting Armour in any day - but then…we have been down that road before. If this was me, I would get some of the so called 'Armour Thyroid' from www.valuepharmaceuticals.com - they are actually selling the Canadian Erfa 'Thyroid' which is very similar to the 'old' Armour Thyroid. You can buy 1 grain (60mcgs) or 2 grain (125mcgs) - both in tubs of 500 tablets very cheaply. You can also buy this without prescription. I am finding it stronger than the Armour Thyroid and went a little hyper on it, but have cut down from 3 grains to 2 grains and so far, things have settled down. Guest guest
Hi I have used all but ERFA and found no difference in old and new Armour ,but Naturethroid very slightly less potent. Afshin apparently will have Armour very soon- see recent email. > thyroid treatment > From: CHRISLM@...> Date: Sat, 6 Feb 2010 13:10:43 +0000> Subject: Nature-throid or Erfa?> > I am down to my last of the new armour and have to make a decision as to which way to go now. Guest guest
What dose Nature Throid were you taking Pen and did you start on the same dose of Erfa. Tell us what symptoms are returning and have you had any recent thyroid function tests done? Guest guest
Hi Sheila Three grains of both, but on Erfa I have gone back to square one.....just completely wiped out like I used to be, pain, swollen fingers, pain etc. It's actually a much needed reminder that I'm not the person I was. I may have felt well, but underneath it all I will always have this condition. Losing Armour/Naturethroid has been a disaster, although I have new supplies on the way at last! Guest guest
Hi Just thought I would share my experience of Erfa so far since you are contemplating which one to try. I am currently taking Erfa and have been for about 11 weeks now. Prior to that I took Levothyroxine for 2 years where I had a list of symptoms as long as your arm but mainly fatigue, aches and pains, and brain fog were unbearable. Since taking Erfa I feel more switched on and aches and pains have gone. Still a way to go a I am treating underlying problems such as low iron and B12 but I feel 10 times better not so tired and concentration span/memory seems to be better. I have not tried Armour or Naturethroid so cant compare them. Erfa is working for me so far :0) Donna > > I am down to my last of the new armour and have to make a decision as to which way to go now. Guest guest
Are you still on HC Pen? If so, increase your dose by 5mgs until your symptoms start to abate. If you stopped taking HC, do you still have some left and if so, use a little because this could be your problem. Erfa affected me when I started it and it has settled down now, but I found I needed less than Armour by a whole grain. Keep us informed how you get on with your new supply.
